GD & T.O.P- Baby, Good night. 「Epitone Smooth Remix」
Awww yeah! Fun pop remix
Machete - Нежность!
Awesome tune to relax to. There’s a lot of spoken word in Russian, but I think it’s beautiful nonetheless. The song title means “Tenderness” in English.
Úlfer Úlfer - Lupus Lupus
Icelandic rap group. Yes, you read that correctly. This is awesome. Their name means Wolf Wolf, which is funny because they name of the song is Wolf Wolf in Latin. Enjoy!
짙은 (Zitten) - Moonlight
Certainly my favorite song off the new EP from Zitten, 백야 (White Night), Moonlight is an ambient masterpiece. It’s funny how every now and then you’ll catch an English word, but it soon gets drowned out by Korean. The vocals are great here. Please enjoy!
짙은 (Zitten) - 백야 (White Night)
This is an FMV (fan made video), where they took scenes from an American film and put it to the music of the song White Night by Zitten. Please enjoy!
짙은 (Zitten) - 백야 (White Night) EP
I found the latest release of Korean band, Zitten, online last night, after posting the video trailer for it’s release. I put it on repeat as I went to sleep. It’s very vocally driven. And at first I liked it, and then I felt that if this were English I wouldn’t really find it appealing, but then I like it again. It’s hard to explain. His voice is very powerful, especially in title track 백야, which again means White Night. I feel that the gem inside this release, though, is the song Moonlight. Will post a link.
Tracklist (and translation in English):
01. 백야 (translates to “White Night”)
02. March
03. 고래 (translates to “Whale”)
04. A Little Bit
05. Moonlight
06. 백야 (Piano Version)
Take note of the album artwork. It’s very pretty.
This is the trailer for the latest 6-song album (or EP) from Korean indie group, 짙은 (Zitten), entitled 백야 (White Night). This is a beautiful minute and a half where you just sit and think about life as a whole, and I’m sure that even if I knew Korean, I’d still feel the same way.
Please enjoy! Will post more of them when I get the opportunity.
Super cool song. Please note, there is no Icelandic spoken. Simply an Icelandic artist.Fu Kaisha - Porth
Chambao: Papeles Mojados
Searching through the musical library that is YouTube, in search of a good music video from Hispanic band Ojos de Brujo, I found this beauty. Chambao is a flamenco-electronic group from Málaga, Andalusia, Spain. Their sound is very flamenco chill. I fell in love with her voice immediately, especially the spoken word in the beginning of the song (and somewhere near the end), because it’s in Arabic, while the rest of the song is in Spanish. Please enjoy!
Sigur Rós: Hoppípolla
Sigur Rós has literally always been in my top 5 musical groups ever, up there with Radiohead, Nirvana, Arcade Fire, and the Beatles. I grew up on it. This song, off their 2005 album, “Takk…”, is one of my favorites of theirs. A common theme with Sigur Rós is that their songs are layered in hope and despair, while Jónsi’s voice airs a brilliant innocence, but this song is different. It’s about being a kid, and staying one, and his voice explodes with hope.
Sigur Rós hails from Iceland, and are one of the most widely successful (creatively, commercially, and critically) foreign language groups out there, and rightfully so. Please enjoy!
(Edit) - Hoppípolla means “Hopping in Puddles” in Icelandic.
This is a nice song from Korean artist, Lucia, entitled ‘Today.’심규선 - 오늘
Donawhale: Donawhale Vol. 1
This is the debut album of Korean indie band, Donawhale, that I’ve been gushing over for the past few days. Although the album was released in 2007, it’s definitely new to my ears, and delightfully so. Some of their album is in English, but there’s a good majority in Korean still. The track list is as follows:
01. Close Your Eyes
02. Hole
03. Foolstar
04. Echo
05. 비오는 밤
06. A Spring Day
07. Running
08. Picnik
09. 아카시아
10. Feb
11. 꽃이피다
12. Echo (Jelly Boy Remix)
This is the third Korean album I’ve added to my collection, and is tied up with Huckleberry Finn in my book. This was also hard to find, but if you do, it’s definitely worth it!
This is T.O.P., member of Korean boy band Big Bang. Yes, Korea has boy bands too.
